|Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges was established in 1884 by the brothers Antonio and Francisco Borges. Since 1998, it has been a part of José Maria Vieira, a Portuguese family group, which is also the most important distributor of Borges wines in Portugal.
Borges has a complete portfolio of DOC wines from the most traditional and old wine producing regions in Portugal, incluuding Port wines, Douro wines, Dao wines, Vinho Verde, rosé wine from Trás-os-Montes region, and sparkling wines. The company has two vinification centres: one at Lixa, the heart of the Vinho Verde region, and the other at Vila Real, in the Trásos Montes region, with a global production capacity of about 5.8 million litres. It is a force in the production and marketing of fine wines from around the country of Portugal, with exports to countries all over the world.
