Inspired by the award winning Okanagan winemaker Michael Bartier, Bartier Bros. Wines are an earnest expression of the Okanagan Valley’s geography, history and people. The Valley’s ethos dictates a proud resilience optimism and self-reliance where the hallmark qualities of hard work and contentment reign.
On the lower side of Black Sage Road between Oliver and Osoyoos, this vineyard has a gentle West facing slope. The sols are a dense loam with limestone (calcium carbonate) covered granite cobbles throughout a deep profile. With the rough surface of the calcium carbonate, water stressed vine roots seek out these rocks for the small amount of water to be found on this surface.
