DESCRIPTION:

Founded in 1986, Feudi di San Gregorio is today the symbolic mark of the enological renaissance of southern Italy and of a culture of drinking; a time of rediscovering the identity of Mediterranean flavours. A grape of great tradition, Aglianico is the most noble and important Vine of the south, representing a unifying matrix of the great southern reds and is ranked among the finest red Italian grapes. Feudi di San Gregorio is committed for years – with the technical consultation of the Universities of Napoli and Milan – in a project of recognition of the merit and rediscovery of this extraordinary grape

TASTING NOTES:

“The 2011 Taurasi is a surprise hit that defies the stereotypes of the vintage. The 2011 summer was a very hot one with dry winds from Africa. But this wine from the heart of Taurasi shows a great sense of fullness and ripeness that is never heavy or flat. The wine appear elegant and well integrated with ripe fruit tones of blackberry and Morello cherry that are contrasted against oak spice, tar, crushed mineral and balsam herb. The mouthfeel is supple and rich.” Monica Larner ~ April 2015
