DESCRIPTION:
The origins of the Damilano winery date back to over a century ago, when Giuseppe Borgogno, the great grandfather of the current owners, started to grow and make wine from his own grapes. This tradition was maintained by Giacomo Damilano, the founder’s son-in-law, together with his children until it passed to his four grandchildren: Guido, Margherita, Paolo and Mario, who very attentively manage their upright style. The estate is widely appreciated thanks to the strictness and
passion that accompany all of the winery’s activities.
TASTING NOTES:
“Layered and thick with that high caliber of red fruit intensity you should expect from this celebrated single vineyard. Brunate is known for wines that are powerful and well structured. You get both those qualities here. But you also get enduring aromas of red fruit, blue flower, spice, anise seed and toasted nut that give the wine a sense of gravitas and profound inner dignity. This is a faithful expression of place and vintage.” Monica Larner ~ June 28th, 2015 – 94 POINTS *2011 vintage, 2012 not yet rated
