DESCRIPTION:
Located at the foot of the Sainte-Victoire Mountain, this estate was once the general headquarters of the Roman legion under Marius, who led his army against the Cimbre and Teuton tribes around 100BC. After the fall of the Roman Empire around 800AD, the vineyard was cultivated by the monks of the Sainte Victoire Abbey of Marseille, who served as winemakers throughout the Middle Ages.
